
Julia passionately plays electric, upright and synth basses. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY and when not touring the world has been playing and singing around the city at venues like Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Birdland, Iridium, Rockwood Music Hall, Joe's Pub, Bowery Ballroom, The Carlyle and Highline Ballroom. She is honored to have shared the stage and/or recorded with artists such as Hozier, Sam Smith, Nick Jonas, Ben Platt, Sara Bareilles, Colbie Caillat, India Arie, Bokante with members of Snarky Puppy, Grace Kelly, Antonio Sanchez, Jane Monheit, Tituss Burgess, Darren Criss, The 8-Bit Big Band, Vaneese Thomas, Lew Soloff, Peter Eldridge, Nir Felder, Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child, Melissa McMillan, Shubh Saran and The Doo Wop Project. She has done TV work with NBC's Smash, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Graham Norton, The Today Show, ABC's The Katie Show, Live with Kelly and Good Morning America. She has also played on Broadway shows Hamilton, Moulin Rouge, The Last Five Years, Jesus Christ Superstar, Mamma Mia! among others.
Raised in Nyack, NY Julia was inspired to play bass through her talented and supportive father, Paul Adamy, with whom she studied in high school. She then went on to get a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of North Texas, where she took lessons with Lynn Seaton and Jeff Bradetich.
